Default stock ls3 bottum end

my buddies pain is my gain....he just totaled a 2010 camaro with an ls3 in it with 5000 miles...my question is i wanna throw this into my fbody. How much hp can the stock bottum end take if i upgrade the rod bolts to arp 2000s? also, o know how to convert an ls2 to work in an fbody, helped another buddy do it. Is throwing an ls3 into an fbody the same thing? you know new valley cover, timing, 24x reluctor, and the extension harnesses? i know that there is a sticky on this alsi, but when converting this to my fbody, if i were going to run 220 as cast heads on that ls3, i can just throw a fast 102 on there with a drive by wire 102, and use the fast fuel rails and essentially all the top end would be like reassembling it as if it were an ls1?

i have a stock bottom end on a camed /2300 blown ls3 on 10 psi for 2 years no broblums so far
about 700 hp at the crank

i basically did what you want to. i used the l92 lower end with all my top end stuff from the old ls1. i didnt change the reluctor wheel. I ended up using the lingenfelter conversion box with their harness extensions for the cam sensor and knock sensors. I used the katech rod bolts as well. might as well do them when the motors out of the car.

Red-can the ls3 really handle that much power stock?

i think the question was directed at me
if so it certainly looks like it there's a lot over here running anywhere from 7psi to 12 psi with stock bottom ends
BUT it all depends how good the tune is of coarse

LS3s dont have weak rod bolts. They're easily as strong/stronger then the actual rods or pistons. I throw 700hp/tq at mine, no complaints yet.

I agree. I would not screw with the stock rod bolts. You are more likely to cause a problem from incorrect torque, etc when reinstalling new bolts than just leaving it alone. That happens a lot more than you would think when guys change out the bolts. That engine is all ready broke in I would leave the bottom end alone if it was mine.
