Vengeance uses Katech's C5R Single Roller. I believe the sprockets were those that came from Scoggin Dickey with their 402 short block assembly, but I am not positive about that.

Lol, good point. Well my shortblock came with a JP Performance (5622T) gear set but no chain. I'm either gona have to buy a whole new timing set or find a chain that will work with these gears. I'm really wanting the C5R chain but don't know if it's compatible. Also, byunspeed has a cloyes chain for 30bux which is a lot cheaper than the $150 C5R

I run an 402 with tfs 215 lsl 239/243 624/624 112, 92/92 made over 500 with 1 3/4 headers and 2.5" exhaust. Im willing to bet you could do over 550 if you go all out with those little 215cc heads. Not to mention a nasty tq curve.

talked to ron a vengeance and he verified that the c5r chain will work with the jp performance sprockets so it looks like thats the route i'll be goin (along with an ls2 dampener).

I thought maybe that was the case .... it is always good to confirm it. I am running an ASP SFI LS2 25% underdrive crank pulley. Now may be a good time to put one on if you have thought about it.

i'm running the slp ud. whats the difference?
another thing i just noticed, my torrington bearing on the cam gear fits very loosely. the rollmaster double roller that come off of my car still has the bearing on it and wont come off. how is it supposed to fit?

I am not sure there is really any difference between the SLP & ASP underdrive at least not that I know of ... it was more of a suggestion to run an underdrive crank pulley.
Sorry, I cannot be too much help with the Torrington bearing, but they typically come fitted onto the new cam sprocket. The 5622T ("T" indicating Torrington) should of had it. You may want to do a search here on this one or "Google it".

it has the bearing but is not fitted on, it just lays on there very loosely. i was just wondering how significant it was as to how tight it fit
and actually on a side note, i have an asp pulley that i bought a while back for my truck (because i didnt do my research and i thought it would fit). i was just planning on sticking with the slp because thats what i have always ran, but i got the asp out last night and done some comparing. the biggest difference in the two is the weight. the slp come in at 10.6 and the asp come in at 7.2. i think im gona switch to the asp since i already have both.
