missed this thread.

I'm surprised to hear everyone saying ptv issues on a "mild" cam like that.

Then again L92 heads have pretty big valves..

worst case you have to flycut.. I mean it's not the end of the world.

Ever get it built? Did you have to flycut? How did it do?

Even with .030 I doubt he would have to flycut but of course it's always good to double check. I'm liking the cam choice and should be a pretty healthy setup with mild manners.

I had listed the car about a week ago, and hadn't considered just 'asking' my employer if I could modify my hours a bit to get more daylight at home. OF COURSE THEY DIDN'T MIND!

So I think I'm back to getting ready to get this thing back together. I just need to get the pistons, do a light hone, and put everything together.

I am still hunting for LS2 pistons, so if anyone has a line on a set of 8 please let me know.

Won a set on fleabay last night for only 169, new-old-stock

Just need some rings now, and will get the LS2 pistons hung on my LQ4 rods.

Ralph @ Kehl Tech is great, I call him up he tells me he can do stuff for me while I wait or overnight

Also interested if those LS2 pistons you bought will work with the rods you have. Press fit and floaters will not interchange.

Interested in your results. I have a LQ4 long block laying around. I've been keeping an eye out for some cheap L92 heads.

It's just plain old common sense to check your piston to valve clearance. I learned the hard way yrs ago and it ain't cheap if you guess wrong!!!
