So bottom line what is the deal? Did the heads make a big difference or not. I have GMPP LS7 heads and I'm thinking of going with the MAST 305 heads but haven't seen any definate real world data to show these things are ths ****.

The car went from running 10.80's to 10.50's and there's still more left in it. These are WCCH LS7 heads.

I did slick but never saw any hp numbers and he never pushed the setup from what I read. I want to see the potential of the heads vs the MAST 305 heads as they are compareable.

I know the guy who owns the GTO. He street tunes it. It won't see the dyno.

Why are you coming up with a Mast 305 head when this test is about pulling off a set of ported LS3's and putting on a set of WCCH LS7 heads?

He hasn't been able to get to the track with a better set of tires on it to see if he can better his times.

MAST 305 heads are ls7 based heads.

I understand that but you wont know about the mast heads unless you put them on this engine. This just shows what a good portedls7 head does on a bigger cubed ls motor.

I see you found a thread about the Mast heads. That is good about the power those heads make but with that much runner you have to wonder about bottom end grunt. I see you have a TBSS so it would be more of a concern for you. I can see the Mast heads on a big cubed engine in a vette/f-body but not your TBSS. You might want a head that will give you a little bit under the curve like my buddy was concerned about in his GTO in this thread. Obviously, he doesn't have a problem with power under the curve in his car, but he is using a stock casting that is ported by WCCH so the runner is not as big as the Mast 305. Just my .02

Exactly that's why I' trying to decide weather to get a copany to port y LS7 based LSX heads I already have or sell them and pick up a MAST 05 or similar head. With a custom cam you can still keep some low end power and flow good up top but usually you have to give some down low grunt to get good up top power. Usable under the curve power is the most important thing hands down.
