Has anyone else had issue with Comp Cams and premature lobe wearing? I'm talking 13K miles on the street no road/drag racing of any kind.

I'm hearing it's a synthetic oil usage problem?

I've got over 25k on my LSL lobe comp cam. Running BTR slow leakdown lifters. always running castrol syntec european 0w30.

How do you determine if the oil is European formula? I've seen dino Castrol oil with "GF" next to the weight and I assume it's "German Formula" I've read here thats a better oil (additives) than standard US marketed Castrol oil.

I forgot where I've seen this GF oil so If you know.. please clue me in.

The older boxes indicated Made in Germany, newer ones indicate European Formula on the front. I've seen them in Walmart, Autozone to varying degree. (Walmart seems to be best price in NY State)
