Rhoads Lifters. I used these many years ago and they worked as advertised. The reason I got these is, based on my previous experience with them, I should gain a few PSI of vacuum back, better idling on the big cam and more low-end torque, even with bigger cam (not that I should need the torque part with these cubes) :

If you don't have time to mess with all that stuff, just pack it up and send it to my house. I'll make sure it gets put to good use.

Sorry, no.

When you said stock, I thought you meant, like I was just supercharging a stock engine from a corvette. The crank, pistons, etc., the internals, are forged and built with FI in mind. The sodium-filled valves have been replaced. That type of thing.

I repeatedly get engine builders tell me this configuration would be good to about 15 PSI. I expect to run between 7 and 10 PSI, maybe.

IMO the weakness of the LS7 blocks are exaggerated. I don't dispute the other blocks are stronger. A local guy (LS2Formula) who now has the twin turbo running 7.7s in the forced induction section was running 7s on nitros w/ an ls7 block. He sold the motor with no issues. There was a guy at the last track rental running over 160 mph in a turbo setup with an LS7 block. I definately wouldn't push it but it's not a piece of crap as some seem to believe.

Why not order the crank with either a small block nose or BBC nose that has a keyway in it? that way you don't have to deal with pinning it?

Thanks for the perspective, Bill00Formula; yours seems to match the builders I've talked to.

Good question, mebuildit. I already have a very expensive forged crank from my 422 Iron block build. I'm re-using that. The Superdamper has other assets associated with it besides the ability to pin the crank with it.

If I had to buy another crank, I would have gotten one with the stock stroke.

Increased stroke would make this bolt hit the block

Block has been notched to add clearance for rotation of the longer stroke crank (allowing the bolt heads to clear the block)
