Default Need Help!!!

Okay guys this been going on since last year so basically i'm stumped and in need of help.

I have an 02 SS, before i did the tune up my car would start stay at about 1000 rpm for a couple of seconds, sputter until shut down. Restart give about 1/4 throttle keeping the rpms up around 1000, would still sputter then the rpms would spike up to 3000 rpms i would release throttle and then shut down. This would happen for about 5-6 min until reaching operating temp. keep in mind ambient temp. is about mid to lower 30's. Again after it reaches operating temp. the car drives just fine until it sits over nite. Did the tune up changed fuel filter, still the same problems occur.

Any insights of what might it be i would gladly appreciate it.

I'm assuming you changed all of the plugs and wires during the tune up? Kinda sounds like it could be a fuel issue. Have you checked the fuel pressure?

i havent checked the pressure since the car runs like a dream after warm up, its only in the morning esp when the temp outside is in the mid low 30's. the thought has come to mind, just in case it isnt fuel re;ated do you have any other idea what it could be....have you heard of this problem before

Man it could be a few different things. Maybe fueling, spark, or a computer issue. See if you can pull any codes.

one code that keeps on coming up is Bank 2 catalytic converter, i have cleared the code but this problem started before i started getting that code. I plan on checking the psi on the fuel pump what is a typical good reading anywhere between 50 to 60 psi...????

55-60. If you have a bad catalytic converter, then that may be what your problem is.

Sounds like maybe a bad coolant temp sensor that is dumping fuel on start up. If you can get a reading on that and see if it is pegged way cold (like -40) then that may be your issue.

One virtually free thing you can do is to clean your throttle body and the TB blade ends where they would touch the throttle body. These engines are notorious for getting carbon build up causing a bad idle.

I think it sounds like a possible vacuum leak. With scanner look at fuel trim. See if is adding fuel.would be a high number though.

i had the "theft" bypass...i disconnected the air mass flow sensor should the engine bogg or there shouldn't be any hesitation.
