well for my application, i know with headers, both will break 400 to the wheels, but which one would I expect more torque in the low RPMs out of?

EPS
Intake Duration: 222 Degrees at .050" Tappet Lift.
Intake Lift: .597" with 1.7 rockers.
Exhaust Duration 226 Degrees at .050" Tappet Lift
Exhaust Lift .598" with 1.7 rockers.
113 Degree LSA

TSP
224/224 .581"/.581" on a 113 LSA.

I want the most possible torque.

I would say after seeing the EPS spec and there added lift, that cam should probably produce a tad more torque(in a certain area) compared to the TSP, but I could be wrong. I am sure Geoff will put your ICL in the 108-109 range also. But both cam profiles will work really well reguardless.

What's your time frame for buying a cam? I just received my EPS 222/226 from Comp on friday, but i won't be installing it for probably a month (car won't be driven until April anyways).

I'm curious what Pat thinks of the EPS cam in a stock stall 6.0 GTO. Geoff wanted me to get the 226/230 cam, but i thought that would be to big without a stall.

I'm probably looking to buy around March and install in mid-late april. It hasn't snowed yet here in Chicago, so I'm assuming we're going to get slammed in february/march. I want nice clear streets when I have my friend tune the car.

a guy on ls1gto also proposed the following cam. seems almost dead on to patrick G's thoughts, but I'm wondering if its too small to break 400rwhp

Comp LSr 265
215*/223* @ 0.050" 0.604"/0.610" lift on 112* powerband 1300-6500rpm

400 rwhp with just the air intake and the 2.5"? I really dont see that happening. strong chance with headers and the rite tune.

see my opening post. I already added the ported intake manifold and TB and have tune right now. I'll be adding headers/offroad mids before I do the cam. and then following all that up with a dyno tune.

CSP put together this cam for me. said he runs/grinds them for stock stalled LS2s all the time.

224/232 with .60x lift on each lobe. 113 LSA. I'd have about 2 degrees of overlap according to the tech from CSP.

here's a vid in an LS3 vette. the vette is on a 114 lsa and has 1.5 degrees of overlap.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8beSzAeBlJI

My cam would have the slightly lower LSA. also since I don't have an underdrive pulley, I can keep my idle lower than the vette in the video.

CSP presented me with that cam. just curious what someone like Patrick G would think of it. i already talked to EDC, he wouldn't release the specs to me for the grind, but from the information he was relaying to me, it wasn't what I was looking for.

Ya he wont untill you pay. I saw the post on ls1 gto...i wouldnt get to hung up on lsa and specs. I think youre best bet is get together with someone who does custom valvetrain stuff since youre goals are not the norm.

yea, its a strange request, but I don't want a converter right now or a built trans. I just want some fun. I'm trying to enjoy the car and focus on graduating from college in May. Once I graduate, all the money I make will be used for school loans, saving for a house, and hopefully buying an SUV/truck around november. Once I have a house, I'm going to tear the car apart.

only way to go. i'm 23 and had 7 years of blowing money away on cars. it sucks to think about all the money I spent. I could have easily had enough money for a down payment on a house right now. but live and learn.

You are exactly right. It hurts to add it all up. Good luck with the cam search.

thanks. might end up putting it on hold. tax return isn't what I'd thought it would be. gonna pay off all my credit card debt instead and don't want to rack it back up.
