running stock L76 intake (runs 90mm electronic TB). amazingly still fit even with soo much taken off the heads, got to love plastic manifolds although at 7k that will start to run out of puff.

Sorry if you thought it was a dick reply didn't mean for it to come out that way, just thought it was a dick question to think stock rod bolts would hold 8k.

Ok , same intake that I'm running. Stock displacement? I'm asking because it seems the larger mills are running out of steam at 6k. Do you have a dyno graph?

Do you think this is necessary for someone who will only just be cresting 7000 RPM...7100 tops?

LS 6's let go on a road course when red line is moved to 7000 rpm.

Check with Katech for rod bolts & info.

I don't know how the rod bolts hold up @ 7K rpm for drag racing... but our guys have had engines blow on the road courses...

I use to turn it 7000, but power felt like it fell of. I turned the limiter back to 6800 where it was for years. I installed a fast 90 and it seemed to carry power better up top to I turned it back up to 7000. It's mostly a street car. I have done a couple roadcoarses over the years but not much....atleast in my car.

yep, stock bottom end, 6.0 litres. here is one from dyno day today (almost 35 deg C, so ~ 100 F). this was in 3rd (built 4L65E) with 6900 rev limiter. the start will be 4500 where convertor comes in. so peak hp will be just under 400rwhp

John do you want to borrow my FAST? I'll let you borrow it just send it back in the same way. We know the kinda folks we are it's brand new and besides it will be 2-3 months before I can get my ride on the dyno, damn College tuition! Lol for these kids.

In my g6x3 I spun it to 7k+ regularly. It was a daily and I beat on it every chance I got. Valve springs didn't last but 5k miles though. Maybe even less than that.

thanks, i'm happy as well. this was an experiment and seems to be working. people rarely run this much comp in a 'stock' cam, but E85 is an awesome thing. it's also a torque monster with 1100nM (800+ft/lb) at the wheels when the convertor kicks in, good enough for 1.53 60ft in heavy commodore. although my diff didn't like it and my 4.11's shreaded 5 crown teeth

Thanks for the offer. I'm afraid with my luck . I hear you on the kids. We have 2 show pigs and a steer. My food bill for them every month equals $$.

College starts in 2013.

Just get her finished. I broke two Fridays ago while doing some N20 testing. The plugs looked close so I'm ready to run a 9 went 10.0 three passes in a row. Damn 4.11's and 60E

The flex plate broke and took out the starter and a piece of the tranny bell. No problem. Repaired the starter using parts from another bad one I had stored away. Ordering the flex plate today. Just don't feel like pulling the tranny. Oh well.

What did you have to change to run E-85, or are the cars set up to run it down there. I bet they didn't like all that torque
