L76 questions
L76 questions I bought an L76 to build for my camaro, and the builder is telling me the motor came with 243 heads compression is at 11.5 to 1 . Supposedly this motor came out of a tahoe that was warrantied. The highest compression I can find listed anywhere is 10.4 in a G8 gt, but that has different heads than what came in this Tahoe. The rotating assembly had material removed like it was internally balanced. Is this some kind of a screw up from the factory?? Trying to figure out where compression will be with L92's.
L76s did come with L92 heads...the L33, LH6, 5.3s were aluminum blocks and came with 243s. LC9s came with 799s I think.
Have you checked for the displacement cast anywhere into the block? What about the vin etched on the block on the backside?

Oh so it's a LFA. I'vegot to find me one of those. Those are advertised as 10.7-10.8:1 comp with the 243s, but of course people have been wrong. Not shabby at all either way.
With L92s and their 69-70cc chambers, if it is in fact 10.7-10.8:1, you'd come to ~10.3:1.
