Default LS1 TO LS3 swap/ oil pan issues help!

I have a 78 camaro that I had a LS1 in and now installing a LS3. The LS3 pan dont clear the cross member so i went to put the LS1 pan on it and now it hits the pickup tube up front. So whats the quick fix would the LS1 pickup tube work or will I have to mod the new pan,not wanting to do that real bad. Is there a aftermarket pan that I could buy?

Yeah, generally you need to use the oil pan and oil pickup tube from the vehicle that the engine is going in.

Seems as the lowers profile pan is the 98-02 f-body.

Get the entire pan, pickup & windage tray.
New is somewhere around $250 for all.

As an FYI... I just did this & found somehing interesting when I went to buy an oil filter.
It seems my new 98-02 pan came with the oil filter fitting that fits the LS3 filter(ACPF48) & not the correct LS1 filter (ACPF46).
