Maybe you have a computer that is designed for a 58X reluctor wheel and your crank is 24X???

Hey that may be exactly what happened if I'm thinking right!
I put a brand new PCM on it 2 days ago. That's why I'm getting those 2 codes now. I bought the car new. The replacement pcm looks just like the one I took out. I hope the dealer can figure it out next week

Both cranks are 24x.

Yeah. This little event has ruined the enjoyment of my hobby. I'm done with working on cars for a while. Thanks for the help though.

Where would I find the tab on hpt to look at the firing order?

I had another look at the spark today. It has 8 but they seem very weak. Could unplugging the harness from each coil while it was running have damaged them?

Sounds like this thing is a nightmare.
There is obviously a problem with spark but I just can't understand how bad spark could destroy a new engine so fast and do so much damage.

With scores in the bores, bad compression, damaged bearings and foreign material in the sump I would be checking for mechanical or build and machining issues issues first and then address the electrical issues.

What oil are you using?
What assembly lube did you use?
How did you prime the oil pump?
What were the piston to bore clearances and crank and rod bearing clearances?
What were the ring gaps?
How was the block cleaned and what cleaning fluids were used?
Foreign material in oil! Is it possible that someone may be sabotaging your build?

These may be worth looking at if you haven't already done so.

A buddy is gonna let me borrow the coils off his 04gto fri. Damn I hope that's it

As for debris. I thought I had a pic of the pan. Ill post it if i find it. dumThere was literally a pound of grit in what looked like a mineral spirit/oil mixture. Looked like graphite. There was so much it had to be from the fuel and metal from the cyl and bearings

I put it together so no on the sabo. The fuel is going in but not making power

IIRC, in the stock tune, the rev limiter is set to 3500 in P/N. Has it been changed on yours?

The OEM rev limit on a 2005 GTO is 6600 all around.

I swapped the coils out this morning and still no luck.
Idles like it's running on 7. On the floor in gear like its running on 2.

Try a running compression test?

Sounds like coil side grounds to me!

Hey OP, did you try doing a crank position relearn?

Didn't do running compression test
Sd tune
Hpt can't do crank pos relearn. Dealer item

It's at the dealer. They put the oem tune and PCM back in today. That's all I know.

Thats interesting, i guess i was wrong, i thought the 2005 GTO LS2 had a 58x reluctor wheel. Really hope you get it worked out brother. I know when we talked last, i mentioned the crank re learn. I hope they can fix it man.

58x came out in some 2007 but was a 2008 model change
Dealer put original PCM and tune in. Then tried the new PCM. I don't know if he delt with the relearn yet or not

gapless rings on a turbo build sounds bad.. but have you ever even actually driven it before its destroyed?
