Warhawk 454 I just got offered a killer deal on a tall deck Warhawk block with all of the need brand new forged internals to make the motor into a 454 nitrous motor. The block is the 9.8" tall deck and comes with a Callies 4.250" crank, Callies 6.460" H-beam rods, and custom 4.125" Diamond nitrous pistons. The guy is throwing in all of the needed bearings, head gaskets, and head studs. Do you think this combo will hold up to a 700 HP shot of nitrous? I know the internals will take it, but not sure on the block. I have never really seen to much on the Warhawk block.

I don't think the block will be the problem. Sealing the heads to the block will be the problem. I hope you will be able to clamp it down well enough with all six bolts and a good gasket.

If I get this short block I am looking at, I will be getting the All Pro LSW-1 285 heads. They are 6 bolt heads and they guy is including 2 sets of .053 Felpro MLS head gaskets. Do you think with the ARP pro series head studs he is including that it will seal pretty well? I am looking at doing the 69cc combustion chambers on the heads. With that size and the 5cc dome on the pistons I will be right at 13.25:1 on the compression ratio. I will top it off with a MAST LS7 single plane 4500 manifold and some type of 4500 single plane throttle body.

The guy I am buying the short block from already has a MAST manifold with 2 stages of direct port plumbed in. I am toying with also getting that. If I get a new intake I will be getting a All Pro tho.

Well I made the leap and told the seller I will be buy all of the parts to build this motor. I can't wait now to get it in and start building when I get home from Saudi Arabia!!!

I like to encourage you to ask around if you go with that compression and that much nitrous, the guys making big power are running 6 bolts heads with 3/8 inch 5th and 6th bolts and o rings on both block and heads, with copper head gaskets, just in case you'll need it, get it from the get go, save some money and lots of work and headaches. glwyb.
