Brand new forged 370, still breaking it in. Got about 200 miles on it. Anyway i was giving someone a ride and got in it pretty good for a minute. Soon after started hearing a tapping than very quickly got pretty bad. Ended up being that a spring retainer keeper had came out and let go of the spring. Keeper was still laying right there and everything appeared to be undamaged so i recompressed the spring and stuck the keeper back in and cranked everything back down. Car is running fine, but its had me very curious as to what happened. My buddy is blaming my beehive springs not keeping up but they are rated for more lift than my cam has already. Anyone have any thoughts? Heads are L92's, springs are Manley Nextek beehives, trickflow pushrods, new oem rockers, cam is 226/236 588/601. ???
