Default ly6 exhaust valves in 317 heads

I bought a set of ly6 exhaust valves to put in my 317 heads because they're inconel severe duty and this is going to be a turbo motor. I swore they were 1.55" but apparently I was wrong and they are 1.59". Can I still just install them or do I have to have the heads machined for bigger valves?

Would be much less expensive to have the valves cut down, given the height and stem diameter are gonna work for you.

I would just have the seats opened up.

The factory exhaust valve seat will take 1.59" without problems. Just ensure your machine shops cuts the seat, blends the bowl accordingly, and unshrouds the chamber if needed.

Thanks for the info Matt. Any idea how much the work costs on average? I have a good machine shop locally, want to make sure im not getting hosed when I call for a price.

Basically will be the cost of a valve job and minor hand porting. Few hundred bucks should cover it.
