Default LS6 cam into Gen 4

I am doing a blowthrough turbo setup and want to delete the dod. Will I be able to run a LS6 cam? I tried to search but didn't find any parts lists of what would be required. I have the parts list for the DOD delete but I didn't see anyone using the LS6 cam.

Most people usually go bigger than the ls6 cam if they're going to do a cam swap.
That's why you don't see many of them.
If you decide on the ls6 cam, you will have to run longer pushrods because the base circle on them is smaller.

I've read the ls6 cam is good for boost. The motor is apart right now and I am trying to get my shopping list together. I have to get a new piston, delete DOD, and Swap cams. LS6 cams and springs can be had cheap and are good for boost supposedly. Not trying to break the bank as the parts list is already long.
Do I need to change the timing cover?
Will LS6 lifters work?

You do not need to change timing cover, new timing chain would be a good idea though.
ls6 or ls7 lifters should work.

Imo, either a single pattern, or reverse split cam.Any of the popular 220/220 114lsa or 224/224 114lsa cams should also work good.

What if this cam was a little less than half of the price of those?

Is it normal for 3 bolt cams to be about 1/4" shorter than single bolt? Is there a spacer or something to take it up? I slid this cam in and the lobes line up with the cam pulled towards the front the 1/4".

Blowthrough turbo and LS6 do not go together and neither does the cam in the cam card you have pictured.

If you would like a cam that is specified for your more unique set-up, shoot me a PM or give me a call and I'll get you set-up. I've done several blow-through LS turbo cams before.

Getting a cam for a really good price is nice, but that still doesn't make it a good choice if it's the wrong cam.

So it won't work period? Or just won't be a max effort deal?
I'm guessing it'll work better than the DOD cam I had?

It'll work, you'll just be "leaving something" on the table as they say. I'm one of the few here who thinks (or will admit) that paying $400 to gain a few percentage points in power vs free is not in my budget. For now...

Yeah that's where I am at for now. Still gotta buy springs, and a bunch of expensive parts so the "ideal" cam will have to wait for now. The cam is in, waiting on a sprocket. Put lifters and trays in and tapped the block. Waiting on the ls3 valley cover as well. Hopefully by next weekend I can get the motor back together and I can start mocking up the turbo.
