With the new design of pistons these days having a shorter skirt profile, is this skirt wear still a thing on boosted LSX and Dart LS Next iron blocks? Wiseco K446X125 with upgraded wrist pins should be fine in a 1300 rwhp setup, no?

With the longer skirts of the Dart block , you shouldn't have a problem at all with skirt wear, assuming the machining is done well.

Doesn't seem to be a problem with the lsx block either. I wonder how things look in this setup almost 2 years later:

In all honesty, it shouldn’t be a problem at all with any of the LS blocks, OEM or aftermarket. The pistons are designed a lot better now than they used to. Any problems with skirt wear nowadays are usually a result or poor machining/assembly.

+1
Its all about the engine builder, parts selected and machine work.

My 383 LS1 w/4 inch stroke Callies crank, rods & Wiseco's tapered stroker pistons. No oil burning or other issues. I've never had to add oil to this engine it burns less than a new completely stock LS1.

This was a good thread. As an update, our Summit Pro LS pistons have the correct taper for even the shortest sleeve of them all - the 6.0 iron block.

Yes the Summit racing Pro LS pistons are also designed with about everything you can imagine already done to them. These pistons are a very good deal on the models that they make that fit your usage and they have quite a few combos covered as well.
