Default Critique my cam choice

Building a 408 with PRC LS3 heads. Using a FAST LSXr intake-102mm intake. Compression is 11.6-1. Cam numbers i was recommended are 239-246, 624-624 lift with a 113+1 LSA, does this sound like a good choice or what. Car is also a 02 T/A, M6 car.

Well after doing more research on camshaft specs, i have received 5 different sets of numbers on cams. Dont want to list names, but what are you guys running on these setups. Really dont want to buy a cam that will not perform to peak potential as i see on here with these particular heads it is hard to find the perfect cam. As listed above it is a iron 408, 11.6-1 compression, caddie lifters, Diamond pistons, callies crank and rods, stock rockers with trunion upgrade, FAST LSXr intake, PTM 102 tb, 50# FAST injectors, car is a 02 T/A, M6, Full weight car, 3.89 gears through a 9 inch with spool with 25 inch tires. Car is a street strip car, 1/8 mile, want to acheive peak horsepower without surge in the lower rpm. Plan to stage around 2500 and shift around 6800.

What is the difference in the cam lobes, just from reading, some people say the comp cams are too aggressive for the ls valve trains, is there any truth to this and if so what is the best design to use.

If Texas speed told u that cam then it is prolly good. If the car is only going to see track and very little street, I would go with a 4.30 gear or a 4.56 gear with a 28" tire. I'm only saying this cuz u want to launch at 2800 and not to mention, u r only running a 1/8th mile. Just my opinion. On a 6speed u won't be that bad on rpms, and ur rake of would be a lot better than the 3.89's at 2800rpm
