Default BBK throttle body

Got my 92mm TB in the mail today, opened it up and saw this..

Really BBK? your going to spend the time to polish the inside and not the rest of it? I know this how they come but was surprised to see this advertised as a Performance TB with that horribly rough casting material left untouched.

Sooooo i spent 15min and what little **** i had lying around the garage to clean it up a bit. It is now smooth to the touch, far from perfect but WORLDS better than out of the box.

Sometimes you cant beat a ported stock tb for the price and you know that whole bitch will be ported smoothed and knife edged blade.

Best option is to place MAF in left hand, lift lid of rubbish bin with right hand and then use left hand to gently place MAF in the bin where it belongs!

Oriellys has a rebuilt one for $80 and new for $165. I've also seen some 85mm ls1 ones online for around $150-160 but all I've never heard of the brands. Should I just go GM parts or find an aftermarket one?

go to a junkyard, a factory unit would be ideal. you know the quality will be good and you shouldnt have any whacky *** tuning problems.

No actually I have two EFI LS cars.

Cammed LS3 in a 2001 Holden Monaro and bolt on LS2 in a 2005 HSV GTO.
Both of these cars are tune in Speed Density, ie MAFLESS.

you can do every bit if not better of a tune with a MAF especially when youre idling or sitting for long periods.

getting rid of the MAF only really gains you power if its maxed out, and youre far from that.
