How do you like the valve covers? I have the same ones but without the logo. Not a big fan of the hardware that came with it.

I like them, I think they help clean up the looks of the engine bay. I have seen some pretty chessy SBC valve covers. These seem to have some thought put into them. The passenger side is kind of tight but everything seems to fit. I did take out all the baffle screws and lock tite them though.

Good idea. I'll do the same and probably do something different with the center bolts, like just run a solid stud instead.

A buddy of mine had a set of Proform SBC covers on his LT1. We took them off to change rockers and the baffle screws were loose.

Don't do the trap door IMO My roller has it and it looks cheap as ****, dropping the tank is not as bad as people make it seem . . . just make sure to do it when it's empty or close to it lol

I say do the trap door, the carpet covers it anyways....and will save you time in the future should you need to service the pump

Carpet covers mine and I cringe when I think about it each time just knowing my car is cut-up because someone wanted to save time on something.
Dropping the tank is very simple, remove panhardbar, exhaust will need to be removed and then drop down the tank. I'd rather do that every-time instead of cutting up the body. Just my opinion

You're just overly **** John. It's a F-body, a 4th gem at that. I don't see the big deal but I see your point of view. It's just out of site out of mind for me.

If it was just any other f-body...maybe. Mine is pretty rare, 1 of 375 Hugger Orange SS's. Granted the car is not stock anymore but I still cant bring myself to cut on it.

Did you change the baffle in the oil pan and did you use a new oil pan windage tray?

No kept them both stock, just had to use 3 washers under each mounting location on the windage tray to clear the rod bolts.

The car is all the way back together except for my fuel rails. I am embarrassed to admit that I was cheap and bought a set of the Professional Products rails and they leaked like hell. So, my FAST rails will be in today. May get some video of the car running tonight. I am working on a base tune to get the thing to idle. It has been ran for maybe a total of 30-45 minutes, and has been all the way up to temp.

I primed the oil pump before starting it by pulling the fuel pump relay and cranking it for about 15 seconds at a time, after the third time the oil pressure came up to 40 PSI while cranking. Oil pressure shoots up to about 70 PSI when I rev it, only revved to about 3K. It sounds pretty healthy...

I hope to be putting the thing back down on the ground tonight. I had to drop the K member down about 3/4" to get my hands over the intake so that I could get the rails in and out. Its very tight.

The car is very dirty....lol needs a bath.

Here she is....

Oil pressure is really good!

I need to do a lot of tuning still, also have the dreaded LS7 lifter noise....they are loud, not real sure what to do about that yet.

I am also not sure about if the fuel pressure is supposed to bleed off with the key off. It seemed like when I first primed the system it was holding pressure around 45 ps key offi, 60 psi running. Now it still holds 60 psi running, but slowly bleeds down when you shut it off. It takes it maybe a minute to go to zero. I do not smeel gas at all nor do I see a leak anywhere. If anyone has a gauge on thier car please chime in.

Congrats! sounds like shes ready to rip, got-r-done in a timely matter too. As far as the fuel pressure goes you should have fuel pressure holding for a lot longer than that. Sounds like a bad check valve or your hose is leaking by the fuel pump that you installed, maybe need to double clamp it. Time for access hole
