I've got a buddy who set the C6 Z06 H/C record last year with a QM Black Widow. I spun the cam on my Cam Pro and was shocked to see the peak velocity was lower than a stock LS9 intake opening ramp! That means it would be easy on parts, which is very important in a road race car. He used my Platinum springs with that cam.

BTW your parts are awesome.

We pulled the Black Widow out of my buddies car and installed something a little more aggressive. He reset the C6 Z06 H/C record yesterday running 9.86 @ 140.8 at 2000 ft D/A and he was .04 off his best 60'. With better air and a better 60' he's hoping for 9.70's. Cam was in the 24X/26X range.

Kinda late to the party but it ended up at 519rwhp in the state it was when it trapped 141mph.

Some highly respected people posting in this thread for sure with lots of credentials to back them up, but I will throw our name into the hat with our LS7 Polluter camshaft and soon to be released LS7 Saturday Night Special Stage 3 TorqueMAX camshaft.

My 434ci LS7 mast heads has a 273 289 110 solid roller, very aggressive cam, awesome response , idle nice, peaked at 7200, made 803hp without to much effort, had no vac pump-very low tension rings, collectors had a 3 inch flange welded on 3.5 collector, oil was to high viscousity, with thinner oil , spacer, collectors done and the vac pump and tuning it would go 850 easily. I have a new cam 285-300-114, everything inc port cross section wants a 8000 rpm peak, with wider lobe sep it will peak this late, am hoping close to 900 HP from it.
IMO from what I have learnt with big engines/big heads on engine dyno, run as much comp as you can, and as much cam. everytime I go up in cam say 250 to 260 there is another 20 and some. These motors because of the large cross sections come alive with more cam and comp. stick to solid roller, much faster seat to seat gives better drivability , high 200 numbers make a lot of power, get best of both worlds with solid roller, keep it on 114LSA. 250@50 is a small cam in a 427ci, its a biggish cam for a 364ci, but even then 266 is nice for small cubes. 270@50 is good high avg power cam for 400ci plus. Id use my old cam and keep it in a 408. 280@50 is a good max effort cam for 427-454, they love it, seen so many big engines engine dynoed and it is where it starts to happen., Remember hydro roller equivalent is like 10 deg less then solid.
