I have a 1998 formula. It's been smoking lately, started out with little smoke, then on accelaration it looks like I'm doing a burn out. I have a misfire on cylinder 5, oil on the spark plug. I was told it was a piston oil seal. I did all basic misfire test it is oil not gas. Any suggestions on what it may be? It is burning the oil..

Could be the oil control ring or a hole in the piston. Do a compression and leak down test.

Thats what I was thinking. Would that cause any damage to the block? I want to do a rebuild with forged rods and pistons with factory bore

Broken ring[s] can/will scar up a cyl wall....

I say it smoking drove it home and parked it in that time I hope i didn't do any damage..
