i used MAHLE pistons on one build with low boost (5-6lb's) dart block 408 with meth injection in the ring lands called it a day in under 1000 miles with no abuse.i fell for the low cost in well known name.two of my friends have had the same problem on a n/a car and a 150 shot n2o both LS engines.with wiseco & cp i have used them on 14 engines i put together or had build which 13 of them was 7-15 lb's boosted engines and one n2o 2 stage 150 & 200 shot with out a problem.all of them i tuned and i an't even near a pro when it comes to tuning.the n2o engine took a dump but it was a valve spring breaking in staying open doing 35mph two blocks from home

Here's a engine build I got #'s on
1999 Corvette Zo6
Block: LS7, 442cid
Compression ratio: 11.8:1
Intake Manifold: FAST LSXR 102mm
Heads: LS7 CNC ported by PRC, 2.20 intake, 1.61 exhaust valves
Cam: Comp Cams hydraulic roller, 248/256-duration, .658/.658-inch lift, 112LSA
Pushrods: Custom 3/8-inch
Rocker arms: LS7 1.8 ratio, Comp Cams trunion
Pistons: Mahle, forged
Rings: Mahle plasma
Crankshaft: Eagle, forged
Rods: Callies Comp Star H-beam
Throttle body: Nick Williams 102mm
Fuel injectors: 55 lb/hr
Fuel pump: Walbro 255lph
Ignition: Stock coil-near-plug
Engine management: Stock, tuned by Boos Performance
Exhaust system: American Racing 1-7/8-inch long-tube headers, 3-inch X-pipe

On a SuperFlow chassis dyno this combination netted 570 Rear Wheel horsepower.

CP or Wiseco are great Mahle ain't bad neither it who puts it together and what design or package the base a engine on some guys Have been running long stroke cranks with No Problem while others have 4 in strokes and burn the hell out of some oil......It's who puts it together and what parts and how they are used together to get the overall package correct.

Sounds like a nice combo lil john. Have you ade any passes at the track with it?

re:Mahle piston choice - it was pretty much the alloy they are made of. That lets me run them with a slightly tighter clearance and I was a bit concerned as the pistons are about as tall as a go-cart piston(lol).

Update on heads - got a call from summit that they have been recalled due to possible misfit of valve seals. Will be boxing them up and shipping back this weekend.

No I don't have any #'s for this car it was for road course racing and street use. This was a article I had on file but the #'s sound pretty reasonable though.

The car was a regular C5 with Zo6 side vents....You can find the article in GMHighTech article name is Stealth Fighter in the March 2012 issue....Some one sent me a PM about Vette not making Zo6 until 2001 .......the side vents threw me.....

Are y running hyd or solid?

FWIW: My cam is a total of 42 degrees smaller than the one you spec'd but mine is a mild build. Optimized well but without giving up any drivability.

Numbers in sig.

I will say this Blackonblacksls: WKMCD has one of the simplest and most cost effective engine builds on this forum and believe me I've read almost every build since 01. All with a Mild 427 - 576RWHP 530RWT WCCH Stage 3 L92's (Still with a very small cam & very streetable)...I'm sure he's under 11.10's if not less, hooking up will be the main thing...his combo is worth a sub 10.99 seconds 576RWHP..... this is not at the flywheel. A stock Zo6 = 2011 Chevrolet Corvette ZO6 0-60 mph 3.6 Quarter mile 11.6,a drag tires will make a hell of a lot of diff. trying to put that much power to the ground..

It's just a little grocery getter. I did take it to the MIR last fall as a favor to the engine builder. Unfortunately, the SPEC 3+ I had in there at the time wouldn't let the tranny shift into 3rd at WFO. I have an RPS Twin Lite in there now and a Stage 4 tranny and diff. I may take it back down to MIR for a track rental this fall but I'm dealing with a blown up 3rd total knee replacement - same knee - right now.

Thanks Paco. The cam would be considered mid-size in a 346 build. I can drive away at 600RPM in 6th gear smooth as glass. The car is really schizophrenic that way. What I really love about the car is 420lb/ft of RWT at 2100RPM. Makes the car a blast to drive on the street. Makes very linear power and is all done by 6400RPM.

BTW: The Superflo engine dyno went 656HP - about 150 more than the C6Z.

WOW. I bet eveone culd have that kind of torgue NA. So how do you like your CHE rockers? Are you having any valvetip wear issues?

I wish you the best on your next knee surgery. It might be time to look for a different Doctor and/or replacement knee manufacturer
