LS1 Computer running a ls3?
After reading... With the 24 tooth converter, and I am looking for a drive by cable tb...
There is no real gain by running a new ECM vs the bigger LS1 computer?
Beside a little bit of space.
I have an entire 2004 GTO setup(entire harness and gauges etc) and was wondering if I should pay the money and definitely swap out to a 2010 Camaro for the computer?
Is there any serious thing I am going to be missing by not going to the Camaro?

Yeah I didn't think so, I kind of just wanted a warm fuzzy feeling.
I just wanted to confirm there wasn't some huge thing I was missing by not going to an E38 or e40 computer. I kind of read that the LS1 computer is the one to go with out of those 3 choices because of tuner experience.
I think the benefit of the LS1 is the drive by cable.
I keep seeing video's of drive by wire and the computer controls the throttle body which jacks your shifting and RPMS... meaning you are not in full control.

The only thing you are missing out on is larger, higher resolution tables in the new PCM. It has larger MAF & injector tables which would be nice, but requires the fly-by-wire throttle.
I just struggled with the same choice on my LS3 swap & went w/ the 411 PCM as I did not want to fool w/ the electronic throttle. Had a bit of tuning to make the 4" MAF happy & getting the injector voltage offsets sorted out, but am still glad I went with the 411.
