Default Is it worth using a 5.3L?

Hey guys, I'm new to the LS game and have the oppertunity to grab a 5.3L (iron block) for a good price and wondering if its worth it for my goals. My plan is to build a N/A 10 second pump gas ChevyII for the street and strip. I know the 5.7 or 6.2 would be a better option but I'm just wonding if you guys have had any success with the 5.3's with just a heads cam and intake swap. I would think I could pull about 400 hp or more at the wheels with a setup like that no? Or am I looking into a bigger cubic inch for that sort of power and ET goals? I know suspension and drivetrain plays a major role in making a car run 10's, but just trying to gauge if its worth picking up this motor? Thanks guys!

I would look into a 6.0 or 6.2.
