Hi, I was wondering about dual timing gears, rollmaster CS1195 and Mellings oil pumps, will it work with a 10355 that I have, some have said not and to go a single timing chain, like a Cloyes. As for the pump will the 10355 pump, empty my sump to quick, I was going to use it in a LSx 454 build, with a mast sump or a Moroso sump 7 quartz. not sure on the capacity of the Mast sump.
Should I off load the 10355 oil pump and get a 10295 or something? I got the 10355 off a mate, new in box that's all.
Thanks in advance guys,
Wes.

I have just finished the build of a 451 cubic inch LS engine. As part of the build, I installed a Cloyes Hex-A-Just single row timing chain and gear set, in addition to a Melling 10355 oil pump.

The Cloyes unit uses their Z chain, which is the same chain that the Corvette Racing team uses.
The Melling oil pump has not drained my oil pan. I turn my engine to 7,500 rpms and the engine's output is 700 SAE Horsepower.
