Default RHS Tall deck!

Hey guys,

Am trying to build a tall deck RHS short block. It will be used for street and strip with hydraulic roller lifters and will be sprayed 200 as Max if needed. But mainly NA set up.
I'll be using mast 305's or Allpro ls7 style heads and high raised hlolley intake.

Now for the short block
4.25 stroke
4.185 bore
6.300 rods
Any better combo for the rotating assembly in order to get the best RPM & HP gain?
I've heard rod length/angle & stroke affect RPM's and TQ
I've seen ppl using 6.300 for the rods and others use 6.125 and some use 6.445
Am going crazy lol
Am seeking experts help
Thanks

I dont know the deck height on that without looking it up, but that rod should give you a nice piston to work with.

RHS tall deck is 9.75 with a 5.94 or 6.38 liner, your choice.

This is the way I would do it.
1. pick the crank you want.
2. pick a piston manufacture and get them made the way they want to make them.
3. pick the rod that fits.

Anything bigger than a 4.125" stroke requires a tall deck, I believe.

HP and high revs, you'll want less stroke. Lower rpm street thumper, your 4.25 is fine. Get the long liner and a light crank and rods though, that's a 1.48 rod/stroke ratio on the 6.33. Don't expect it to live to long either. A lot of side load on the rings.

If you want it to live a long life use the longest rod. less strain (more hp per cube) on the walls and piston.

What would be the max cid of that longblock ? If its going to be a street/strip car I would max it out. That's the hole idea of a longblock in the first place right.

6.4 is a good rod length for 4.25 in RHS block. That puts your pin height at 1.225, that leaves room for any ring pack you choose and still keeps the piston fairly light.

Car will be used for street and strip,
Bore is 4.185
Stroke is 4.250 (no plans to go bigger)
It's the the rod legnth that is driving me crazy lol
I want to get the max hp possible out of this build.

So the longer the rod the better?

Im not positive but wouldn't that make sense. Im sure someone hear has a ratio for that so you don't end up with the extra weight and not enough piston ring spacing causing problems. Piston first then rod. I think you can get the up higher (longer) if your not going turbo or nitrous. I like the 502 really...That would be the bomb. lol
