They're too large for any NA setup IMO. They having given me a double hump in my torque curve, and with my previous setup, cost me 25/30 before getting some tweaks done to my heads. Yes, 25/30. No bueno. To run them effectively IMO you will need to open the exhaust valve later and close it earlier than in typical LS7 cams. They will be changed soon.
Don't do it. Again, don't do it. And again, don't do it.

Do you think that the 2.5" exhaust has anything to do with it?
I can see how they cost you some torque but it scares the hell out of me to see how much. I guess the 7/8" will be plenty for a N/A 454.
Are you considering going to a 3" exhaust system?
Thanks for sharing all this information - saves me the $$$ instead of finding out the hard way.
Cheers,
D

I am excited to see how Brou's build comes together - although my intake will be different we will have rather similar builds otherwise.

Actually hadn't measured the difference. It was thrown on the week after this dyno. It won't go back to the dyno until tougher headers and a ported fast have made it on.

700 RWHP NA @ ~6800 rpm is truly phenomenal, with 3 inch exhaust
And a ported Fast 102 I have no doubt you will EXCEED 100 hp/liter
At the wheels ie 712 probably hit closer to 750!
You have helped so many people save alot of time & money who want
To acquire similar results including me.
I have started my own quest to exceed 201mph at the Mohave Magnum
( 1&1/2 Mile Event in CA ) Oct 2015 and will start my own thread so
As to not high-jack yours any further.
Again Congratulations and Thank You,

Some of the biggest things I've learned from this are:
1) you cannot compare a fully forged bottom setup w/ a stock LS7 bottom. The LS7 is over 3# lighter, and that alone is worth a fair amount of HP, that is exponential when mods are added.
2) Bigger isn't always better.
3) Whatever your starting budget is, take it and add a multiplier of 1.33. This IMO wasn't a "budget build" from the start, but my original budget of 15k has been eclipsed by a fair amount. Now, that has included a clutch and a torque tube rebuild, but money is money.
Navy, thanks and glad to help. The 700 Mark is with Nitrous. The NA graph is the 570. With a fast and 1 7/8 I think 600 is possible.

Tony ported my Fast 92 very happy, also having him port a Fast 102 LS3
would definitely recommend!
Reading issue, guilty as charged.
At age 56 don't think that counts as new generation!
Tough crowd of critics in here
