You're shooting for end of January start-up? It's going to be a monster, plain and simple.
My Heads should be in next week! Unfortunately, I'm working out of town all week, but I'll have pics of both the heads and flow sheets once they're completed. I talked to both Chris and Darin extensively before sending my heads out. Ultimately, Quality Motorsports whose putting it together had a better relationship with Chris and showed me some dyno results from guys that had WCCH heads, then sent their Heads to Chris and gained 20 all with the same cam. I've heard the same type of results from Darin's port work, though, so either way you went, you're in good hands for sure.

Doing a turbo build right, I don't see anyway that it'd be cheaper. Forging the rods, crank, and pistons on just about any LS motor nets you near the same price (roughly $2300 for a rotating group). Block prep, and assembly would be $1500+; heads would be a little less ($2500 ish); cam is the same; intake I had, so I'd have saved $100 (that's all I paid for my LS7 intake); but the kickers would be fuel system and turbo kit. Both, would make a turbo build dwarf this build. I'd also still be adding a clutch to handle the power, adding my oil cooler and Dewitt's radiator w/Spal fans; and at the end of the day, I'd have a Vette that could go fast, but only straight.

After it's all finished my goal is to have a Vette that can go fast at a strip, the mile, and a road course. With a turbo build, there wouldn't be any road courses for sure. I'd have more power, w/ the ability to "turn it up" easily, but tuning can be a bear, and packaging in a Vette can be troublesome to say the least. To me it all made me think: ugh. So I chose Big cubes and NA.

Ok, so the latest update:
today I picked up my valve cover inserts and I have to say, they match the Katech VC's perfect!

Spoke with ERL yesterday, and my Shortblock is finished and ready to ship. It should ship out early next week! My heads should be completed next week as well, so by the end of next week, all should be going together!

Silly Question: are you converting the C5 over to a drive by wire?

From the pic's you posted (both before and after shots of the parts being painted) you seem to have an LS7 90mm DBW throttle body.

I figured I'ld ask because the C5's used the LS1/LS6 cable pulley style throttle body.

I'm guessing it wouldn't be that hard to convert over to a C6 ECM and drive by wire pedal, though...

The C5's are DBW. There was no conversion needed, from cable to DBW. The LS6 TB is a 78mm I believe, and the LS2/7 TB is 90mm.

100HP per liter is what we ended for my engine....daily driver able to kill an Enzo (did it three time)...

You simply need some money and a real engine builder.

Good luck.

Things just got real.

Short Block is at the shop and ready for assembly. Now, we're waiting on the heads to arrive! All the parts are boxed up and ready to go on. Patience. It's tough!

So badass.

Most exciting hunk of metal ever, huh?!

Which pistons did you go with?

It's a pretty cool hunk of metal. I think the heads may be a little more exciting, but this is pretty cool. It amazes me how physically small and light the entire short block is.

The pistons are Wiseco K463X155's. -2.8 valve relief pistons.

This is the man when it comes to discreet emblems:

Top notch work. I have 2 C5 Z06 emblems w/ "434ci"in place of the factory 405HP.
