Default vvt spring re-install?

I popped the spring out of my phaser-my fault. Anyone know if it can be wound up and tucked in under that bolt or do I just get another one?

I don't believe anyone has been successful yet, I think you are going to be buying a new one.

Agreed. I think it in Comp's Phaser Limiter Kits that they tell you if the spring pops out, you can't put it back in. You'd be better off finding a new one, but keep in mind there are two different phasers and respective PN's.

Anyone whos messed with rebuilding small engine recoils could probably do it, a fixture may be req'd, but its NO fun at all trying to rewind springs, so when i fubar'd mine? I replaced it.

Anyone doing a VVT build my advice is to paint mark the bolt that holds the spring before touching anything. Its too easy to accidentally take out the wrong bolt without some identifier as they all look the same.
