How about Tim at Bullet racing cams? Those guys don't live in LS world, but always seem to have the cam in stuff that's faster than its suppose to be. They spend more time on Nascar, scca, NHRA, EMC and less on adds in HotRod or pushing stuff on the internet forums. No telling how many years those guys have in combined experience on cam lobe design.
Something else Id like to see is the PTV clearance these custom cams wind up with on stock long blocks for the cam only guys. Brian Tooly did 3 cams for a GMHTP article with a stock LS3 longblock. The only cam that had good PTV was a 224/232 on a 113, 624/590. The next cam, that is right in line with a lot of stock long block LS3 grinds (231/239 on a 113, 617/624) was pushing it at .041 int . The 3rd cam (235/244 on a 111,. 647/612) only had .003 on the intake side !! I wonder how many cams are running around one rev limit away from disaster. Scary stuff for the guy that just wants to stab a cam and springs in there new Camaro or Vette .
