I'm about a year behind you and Briou at this point. I have the parts to build up my 454ci shortblock - going to follow along and see how you guys do!

Rooting for you and looking forward to seeing numbers.

Love the dry sump setup!

If you have any more trouble with the manley pushrods you might want to give Manton a shout...they make some really quality stuff...

thx Briou,

we're going to stick with Manley...just hoping we get a better set. we saw .020" of variation with the first bunch.
Machined the intake flanges for nice tight fit and lines up with the head intake nicely...
fully assembled pics waiting for push rods and Holley HP

Thanks for all comments....

a lot of things have to happen today to make this dyno before Turkey Day....

i was in the test cell yesterday making sure we had all the fittings and the slave dry sump tank.....etc.

If not we'll have to wait 2 weeks...keeping my fingers crossed.

I know the feeling...up until I heard the engine making a pull on the dyno I felt like I didn't have everything I needed...

good question.....we were waiting for the comp cams limited lifter but they were back odered. So we decided to use the GM lifter used in the COPO engines. The Rick said he's used these in many COPO builds and has never had a problem spinning over 7K so i said go for it. I'll get a part number when I get back.

Default dyno update

Back in town and we're now scheduled for Dec 17th, we picked this date because the Holley rep will be there to assist in tuning and installing the HP system. gotta wait another week is going to kill me.....

Like a kid waiting for Christmas morning to arrive. At least it's an early Christmas for you.

I know the feeling...the HP system shouldn't be much different from the dominator as far as set up and tuning....Now I didn't do any of the tuning, but the set up was really simple...hooking it up to the engine was all plug&play, and there were only a couple power and ground wires, and an ignition power source and it was ready to roll

yea, i get it but i'm still worried about the "oh sh**" in the test cell. I'm going by today to make sure we have all the details and everything plugs in like its suppose to. I really want this to happen so i got something to do over the Xmas break. Offering the Holley Rep was a freebie, the engine shop on request asks for the Holley guys to come out and make everything is up to par.

BTW Briou, the battery box looks good.....

Have you primed the oiling system and if so, how did you do it?

I got ya...makes sense...I wish they would have been there when we kicked my engine off the first time...

Thanks...it turned out better than I expected with the amount of cable I was running around there lol

with the dailey pump you just slip the belt off and put a drill on the bolt head on the pulley and spin....really easy. There's an external oil tank in the cell so its just a matter of building some pressure and circulate.
