Default LS2 Pictures

Shots from Chevy pavilion at this weekends race in Richmond. The motor has obviously been "smoothed" for show purposes, but figure you guys would want to see it

All of the sensor holes and casting numbers had been smoothed off, but all the standard sensor bosses appeared to be there. The LS2 intake looks like a direct bolt on for a LS1. It also had an oil pan that was simular to an fbody pan, only slightly shallower. CTS or GTO possibly?

That intake looks to be a two piece unit. True?

Looking at it in person, it looked like our intakes. 2 pieces glued together. Of course this motor had lots of paint on it...

The heads look to be interchangeable from the outside. Hopefully the bolt holes will be the same. I'm thinking this might turn out to be the next big thing for the LS-1 aftermarket.

basically from what i've read the LS2 heads are just reworked LS6 heads. so, at this point yes, it's interchangable. and it's a 90mm TB on it also.

The C6 Corvette will no longer make use of "wings" on the oil pan due to fluid flow engineering. A team came up with a series of oil control baffles tha apparently does a better job than the C5 oil pan. That pan you saw is most likely the C6 pan.

It was stated that the heads, intake and throttle body are all bolt ons for the LS series motors. Remember that the Corvette uses drive by wire, so the TB is probably a aftermarket item for F-bodies.

I'm sitting here with an LS6 intake in my hands, and comparing it with the pic, it looks like the runners on the LS2 intake are much taller fwiw. The top of the LS6 runners are almost even with the top of the TB inlet. The LS2 runners look like they are at least an inch above the TB inlet. It does look like a direct bolt on. Can't wait to hear about the heads.

I know what I want for x-mas. I am dying for the damn C6 to come out. I am sure that car will put down 400 hp to the wheels.

even though the sensor holes have been blocked off, the area for the MAP sensor still looks pretty odd, wonder how that all works..

Come on John, I figured we'd see a picture of you humping on it!

Can't wait till those parts hit the streets, I'm more interested in the engine than the car.

I was there when the pavilion opened, I had already seen the C6 sitting there, and was praying that it was a LS2 on the stand beside it. When they opened the gate to let people in... I went straight to the motor

Great pics, I can hardly wait to get my hands on some LS2 parts...OEM quality always seems to be above and beyond what the aftermarket gives us, and I think most of us are still waiting for a real intake solution.

I also am anxious about the intake, it does suck though that us fbod guys will need an aftermarket TB, maybe somebody can modify the stock ones to use cables?
