Hydraulic is very likely but not just to ls7. Anytime you have oil in the hole it is possible. I did some tests one time with bolts and hydraulic pressure, you can get over 10,000 psi with minimal torque.

The price listed for the Johnsons are not what they cost. Buy them through Tony Mamo.

I went short-travel in mine with axle-oiling.

I would just do LS7 lifters, gm gaskets and arp head bolt's. The setup is pretty simple and doesn't require expensive lifters ect.

Dont ls7's have an issue with dropping valves? Maybe thats where the noise is coming from.

Unreal,
Is that the somewhat new Crane lifter that they had in a magazine with a SBF and could spin it to 8500 RPMs? If so, I was wondering if they ever made this lifter for a LS.

No idea. Check them out on cranes site. They are not cheap, I believe $750 or so, but very nice billet pieces. LME recommended them.
