LSA - Oil squirter - Real data needed
Would love to see some test results from a OEM that logged piston or combustion chamber temps.
I have searched the inter-web and only found hear say so far.
At least your thread gets a bump and I'm sure someone will shoot me between the eyes for mentioning a Neon.
Katec offers aftermarket ones and the LSA / LS9 both come factory with them.

While the article you found is a great read(and I'll definitely be back to re-read in more detail), the guy makes a quick reference to the piston being some times cooler underneath than at the crown and does not seem to address how much of that is due to the squirter and how much is due to the fact that COMBUSTION HAPPENS ON THE CROWN. The author makes a case for oil's heat transfer responsibilities in an engine and he makes a great case for a diesel engine oil cooler he obviously has some commercial interest in. Did I miss some in-depth analysis of the effectiveness of the squirters themselves? It is a long article.
Thanks.
