heavy car, not enough gear ratio, low stall converter, and huge heads
it would be really tough to have a camshaft fix all those compromises
you could leave all those factors alone if you were to be open to running a 235/245 cc runner cathedral head like an AFR or a Trick Flow

Your information is way to vague!

It would be like sending you doctor a email only saying I feel bad, what's good medication for Me? Then expecting him write you a prescription for exactly the right medication to cure your ills.

So, ....you need to tell us what characteristic you want, or don't want from a cam for you to consider it good, or even great!

I've been reading your posts, and have a 408. As stated the car is pretty heavy and the rear gear is to small, your stall sounds deceit for the street.

But as I always say:
Call a Well Known Cam Manufacturer and take the Guessing Game Out of the Equation.
Tick Performance, Brian Tooley Racing, Cam Motion, Bullet Cams, And Mr. Pat G. these are the best so take your choice. Cause if someone gave you a reference and it turned out bad can you call them and ask 4 a refund:-) You can always take someone's build and look at it for a reference but I try not to *use* it as the reference cause everyone's build is different.

As this is a G8, I assume it has a 6 speed auto?
In which case 3.45:1 gears is plenty.

not enough gear ratio, low stall converter
Must not know much about the 6L80E transmission and its huge 4.03 first gear (along with the others all being higher numerically than even the T56).

A 4.03 first gear with 3.45 rear end is the same as any 2.66 geared T56 fbody with a 5.23 rear end. Pretty sure that's enough gear to get out of the hole properly even on a G8.

agreed, the 3.45's are fine for the 6 speed trans. i'd get in contact with rick crawford, he knows his way around the g8 platform. something in the 223/235 111+2 range depending on how much those heads are milled.

I CAIN'T BELIEVE I'm gonna say this, but I agree with Lil Jon. "Call a Well Known Cam Manufacturer and take the Guessing Game Out of the Equation.

same here....holy crap 4.03...sheesh; I was thinking the 3.06 times 3.45 was still low for a 4000 pound car plus driver.

6l80e also doesn't have a true 1:1 4th gear. It's 1.1x IIRC.

I had almost the same combo but with Manual and AI 280cc LS3 Heads
Ran 239/253 .637"/.637" 112+3 EHI/EHX Lobes
Made great Power around 550 rwhp and that's with holley Hi-ram intake.
