LS3 - twin row + OEM chain guides?

Default LS3 - twin row + OEM chain guides?

Hello all,

Quick question; have searched for this answer but can't find it anywhere.

When upgrading to a twin row timing kit, are the LS3 OEM plastic chain guides suitable? Ours are unworn with 18,000 miles light use. I'm just worrying if there is chance of a twisting force being applied, as the chain moves, as they are not as wide as the twin row chain.

With the Hinson sold C7R chain there is almost NO reason to need a dual roller set up.
I'd be equally concerned if trying to run the dual with a plastic tensioner meant for the narrower single chain. I would not try it.

Unfortunately Hinson chains are not locally available, we ended up with a Manley twin row as we were trying to help a local supplier in return, who had been helpful to us.

Manley states: 'Kits also include all necessary hardware for installation.'... will flick them a message, see if we can sort out chain guides.

I run a stock ls2 dampner with a rollmaster dual roller. Seems fine so far.

My double roller didn't have enough slack for any kind of tensioner.

Was still this tight at every tear down.
