Is this timing chain re-usable? quick vid
I'm not sure if this much slack is normal or not.
Also does anyone have a P/N for the oil pump pickup tube o-ring? I keep on being told i have to buy the entire pickup tube (86$!!!) I have a 2006 ctsv ls2. Maybe a corvette or gto P/N will work? I'm not sure if if they are interchangeable.
Is there any other means of replacing the chain without seperating that o-ring? Im guessing thats a big fat no?! I really don't want to replace the chain, drop the pan, worry about oil pressure and fork over 86$ for a damn gasket. It's very tempting to keep this chain on and not dig into the engine more. 59xxx miles on car.
Edit: after searching around it seems this much slack seems about normal?

GM specs on my LS1 says up to 5/8" slack is acceptable.your fine.
people worry too much about this.
I reused a stock timing chain and cam gear with a litte over 60,000 miles on them.the crank gear has about 168,000 miles on it.my slack is about the same as in your vid.
the aluminum block will grow a little bit as it comes to operating temp, taking up a little of the slack you see.
too much tension on the chain will cause premature wear on the cam bearing.
