LS2 and C6 info
http://www.crossedflags.com/nuke/htm...wtopic&t=10796
This info came from Josh Holder who is on the Corvette team...
Some basic stuff about the LS2...... It has the same stoke as the LS1/6. The bore size has been increased to 4.00" and the cylinders are siamesed. The block is very similar to the LS1/6 from the outside. The mounting points and bellhouse patters are the same as the C5. The big external change is the oil pan. It doesn't have the "wings" on it like the C5. GM has determined that the wings aren't needed. Now, for the really big news....THE BLOCK WILL DIRECTLY BOLT INTO THE C5. THE C5 HEADS AND MANIFOLD WILL BOLT RIGHT ONTO THE BLOCK. The PCM is different, as well as some of the other stuff, but the LS2 block can be easily used in the C5. Can you say cheaper C5 stroker motor Josh confirmed this info before he came to MT.

Does anybody know if the bores are siamesed at the top where the cylinder is hottest or just most of the way up? If siamesed all the way will there be cooling issues?

its an aluminum 6L block, it will also be used in the upcoming 385hp version of the 6L used in the silverado ss, the trailblazer ss, the ssr, and the gto... it will also be called an LS2, just detuned a bit...
