You'll want to get a custom cam to match everything properly.. I would recommend you going solid roller if you want to turn the motor that high all the time constantly.

On the heads I would call Chris Frank for one of his programs on the LS3. The big runners love the tach north of 7000 rpm!!

4500 with 1050 dom will be wayyy to big for 600-650 hp (more like 430+ci and 750+hp)

I'd suggest 4150 vic jnr with 850 holley

dome a few of the cfm programs they all show for a 408 turning 7000/8000 rpm to need a 973.9 cfm to a 1130.8 cfm. so i was going in the middle.

Chris frank is frankenstein heads.

408 @ 8000rpm is more like 700-800hp. Then maybe carb etc is big enough.

But if you want 600-650, could get that from stock ls3 heads and 230s/240s cam on <108lsa

With that kind of RPM, it sounds like a formula for 700+ FWHP. You might consider Frankenstein Heads CNC LS3s. He has units that approach 400 CFM. There are several aftermarket options. Mast Motorsports has some very nice options including some small bore LS7 style heads and matching racing intake manifolds for 4500 series carburetors if you really want to make some power. It just depends on your budget.

As for the Cam, I am a fan of the Cam Motion solid rollers. They also sell both the Jesel and T&D rockers arm assemblies.

Frankenstein Racing and Cam Motion LLSR all the way. Chris Frank knows his heads, and Kip at Cam Motion knows his cams. Kip has by far been the best guy I've ever had the pleasure of dealing with. Customer service at Cam Motion is great.

My stage 1 FRH ported ls3 heads flowed 390/255. I don't remember what the stage 2 flows.
