2008 LY6 is this a good starting platform?
LY6 is a solid platform and has big power potential. Stock valves are fine imo its the early genIV springs that were problematic. With the t56 it is a lot trickier to retain VVT and there are some difficulties getting the VSS to register. Easiest is to ditch VVT and run a Camaro SS ECM and go. If your going to run it stock "for now" at bare minimum Id upgrade to the LS3 yellow valve springs but a cam, pushrods, and new matched valve springs will be well worth the effort and transform the entire experience. EPS makes some very good cam grinds for those heads. Couple that with an LS3 intake and injectors and you'll be all set. 400+ whp is easily within reach here.

Im wanting to know other than Craigslist and local ads how are the majority of yall finding these engines?
Im out in a smaller city and its only got two small junkyards.
Any hints would be much appreciated.

Search: 08 Silverado HD 2500 (new style body) Also, don't bother using the zip code during the search. It will get more results. Don't limit yourself to low page results (1-4 etc...) as they list based on most expensive to least. You can find lower mileage stuff mixed in. So look at ALL the pages. FWIW
