Default LS3 weight vs LS7 weight

I have a LS3 engine and have been thinking of upgrading to a lS7 engine. How much more would the LS7 weigh?

LS1/2...........106
LS7..............107
RHS..............110
Dart Billet......128
6.0L Iron.......216
LSX..............230

Pulled this from another thread. Doesn't list the LS3 but the fact that the LS1, LS2 and LS7 are within 1 pound should be a pretty good indicator of what the LS3 is.

Pretty sure any difference in weight would be negligible and hardly worth mention

Basically the LS7 is going to make so much more power that the slight weight difference wouldn't even matter in the slightest lol

There's no reason why the LS7 would be any heavier than all the other aluminum units. The engines themselves are all exactly the same as far as exterior dimensions.

Slight variation of a few pounds sure because of say longer liners, but that's it.

The ls7 is lighter do to the titanium rods and lighter Pistons.

It's heavier due to more oil

You're talking about a few ounces at the most there. In terms of valvetrain stability and rotating assembly yes that's a big deal.

When talking about the overall weight of a chunk of aluminum weighing in at 450lbs I doubt a few ounces is going to make a difference...you could take a **** the morning before getting into your car and you can save more weight than what Ti valves and lightweight pistons would save you.
