Default Oil to top of motor, LS3

I'm sure some one has a good explanation for this but I figured I would ask. Has anyone paid attention to how long it takes oil to get to the rocker arm upon start-up? I was shocked that it took 2 1/2 minutes to see anything trickle out of the back of the rocker. Even after the oil was flowing it was not near the volume of any SBC that I have run. Is this normal?

This is a head/cam 2012 ls3 car with stock oil pump.

FYI, not referring to a new build, talking about every day activity.

You need to replace that stock Ls3 oil pump they are notorious for failure.

Default Rocker oil supply...

Just pay attention to your oil pump pressure if pressure ok you are good, the rocker are delayed in getting oil as oil gets true the lifter and of course main and rod bearings have on purpose build in priority.

Just remember the rockers never ones go around full circle as the rock travel at the shaft only sees about a 3/8 inch.

Lots of things where made different in the LS engine family as compared to the earlier small blocks, still I am convinced the LS engine gets too much oil at the rockers and use a 0.030 oil restrictor in the push rod.

A 0.030 diameter continuous hot oil supply pressurized 30 psi or greater is still a substantial amount of oil for the sole purpose of lubricating only the rocker arm.

Pressure wise I am good, 32PSI hot at idle and 58PSI Wide open. Just seemed odd that it took as long as it did to see it at the rocker. All the valve tips look great too, mainly concerned with the trunions getting enough lubrication.
