I've got a couple small oil leaks after the build and have to replace the oil pan gasket and front seal. I'll check the bearings then. Should have about 500-600 miles on them by then.

Thanks for the idea. :-)
Did you ever find anything wrong with your setup, if so what ended up being the issue? I just got done getting my 403 up and running last weekend, and my oil psi is almost identical to what you were experiencing. Ive put about 75 - 100 miles on it so far.. tonight roll into it a little bit and saw 101psi around 5k. I've never seen oil psi this high in any of the ls motors Ive put together and now Im starting to second guess myself.

My brand new 421ci LS3 stroker I just built: Using a Holley 0-100psi transducer verified with a mechanical gauge. 85-90psi at idle with 5w-30 conventional oil (for break in) with a Melling 10355 high volume pump. The mains and rod bearings are all between 0.0023" and 0.0025" with a few a little tighter at 0.0018". When I rev it, it goes to 100psi. I might put the lower pressure spring in but I haven't gotten it really warm yet. It's still sitting on the engine run stand and I haven't dropped it in the car yet. I'm working on getting the cooling fans wired up on the stand so I can get the oil hotter. But the damn open headers are so loud my neighbors hate me lol. I might buy a couple cheap mufflers just so they can tolerate it running for awhile haha

I'm running a Melling 10296 HV. I recommend anyone running a HV pump use the standard pressure spring. Stock pressure is fine. Anything over 60-65lbs does only 2 things:
1: Take more power to spin the pump, and-
2: Get you closer to the point of aerating the oil.

I just finished my ls3 build and im getting around 60 psi idle cold about 50 psi idle at 150F oil temp. Jumps up to around 90psi at 4-5k rpm at 150F. my last ls2 motor definitely never went this high. Hope i didnt screw anything up but it seems from reading this thread that im fine?
