Are these aluminum blocks ?

Some guy on f.b. is saying that the 2013 L9H 6.2 is a iron block....i'm thinking he is wrong but i did a search on here and nothing....a month or so ago i found info but now i can't...

I haven't really dug into it but I thought all the 6.2l were aluminum

L9H is an aluminum block. And dude above is correct, all GM 6.2L blocks are aluminum. The guy aught to be mad at himself.

The LY6 is the 6.0 Iron block with L92 heads found in the HD series trucks. It is still in production today.

We have a new chevy rack body at work a 2016 and it has the 6.0 iron block gen IV engine. I was surprised myself . I checked under the hood to see the new gen V motor.

All HD trucks have iron blocks, there's not a HD 6.2 yet but I've seen talk about it for the 2017 model year.
The 6.2 is an aluminum passenger car light duty truck motor right now.
There's a new Mercury Marine 6.2 iron block motors but I think it's a 4.00" bore 6.0 block so yes here's technically an iron 6.2 with a forged crank.

All gasoline HD series trucks still come with a Gen IV motor. GM hasn't replaced the Gen IV LY6 yet.

Believe it or not, GM still offers the 4.8 as the base engine in its cargo vans.
