Default Ls3 build up

Hello I am building a Ls3 from scratch this is the parts I was thinking
Block: Summit 6.2 block
Stock flat-top pistons (no valve reliefs)
Heads: Trick Flow Specialties Gen X 255 LS3 with dual valvesprings (flow 380 cfm)
Cam: Stock BTR/Comp (0.624/0.590 lift, 232/248 duration, 114 LSA) and three-bolt gear
Rockers: Stock Offset LS3
intake: FAST
EFI Management: MSD Atomic EFI
Exhaust: hooker headers with flow master
Stock crank
Injection: unsure
And parts I am forgetting any feed back would be great shooting for 600hp

1. What's your compression ratio gonna be?

2. Have you given any thought to how far out of the hole you want the piston crown at top dead center?

3. Have you given any thought to head gasket compressed thickness and quench?

4. Injectors? You can use what you want, but a set of stock LS3 injectors would be both, sufficient an least expensive (if you can find them on the forums).

5. You using OEM rockers or you going aftermarket LS3?

6. Are you building as a project for personal gratification/enrichment? I ask because a buying a complete short-block make be a bit easier on the pocket.

I agree about looking into a complete short block. Easier on the budget and time frame.

You're better off going with some ported or lightly worked stock LS3 heads. Will be cheaper and make almost as much power and still utilize nice and lightweight valves. Also stick with the LS3 intake and top that off with LS3 injectors (plenty for what you need).

Depending on what your driving style is you may want to do a better chain and/or oil pump and oil pan baffle. Also consider doing the trunion upgrade on your stock rockers.

You won't have enough valve to piston clearance with flat top LS3 pistons. You really should buy some with valve pockets in them.
