Ls4 valvetrain questions
Anyways I got a smokin deal on a complete ls4 engine today. $200 I felt pretty good. I mostly bought it for the 243 heads and intake and fuel rail and stuff. I also have a 5.3 out of a '00 truck and I was wondering if I would have any issues using the lifters, pushrods, and rockers out of the ls4 with the iron 5.3? I want to use the ls4 parts because the truck engine had at least 200k and every thing is just cleaner. I also read that ls4 243 heads have too big of an intake valve to clear the cylinder wall, also read another saying that's false. So I'm not sure on that either. Also I'm planning on throwing a turbo at it at some point once I get everything right with the swap. So would it be worth my time to hand port and gasket match the heads? People have told me it's not worth it.
