Default Ls2 cam choice

I'm looking at a 228/232 -581/583-116+6 cam .
I have ported heads ,fast 102 intake and TB 4L60 trans with a 2800 stall and 3.55 gears .
I don't race my car I drive in the city a little but mostly go on weekend cruises and drive it like I stole it so I would like a little more power .I don't rev it over 6500 .I want a little lope at idle that has good vacuum for brakes and isn't jerky driving in the city .
Does anyone know how that cam would be.
What does +6 do on the LSA

+6 after the LSA refers to the advance ground in to the cam.
In my opinion 114*+3* would give you more of what you want
And still drive well. The other parameters 228/232 & lifts are in
The sweet spot.

I agree with NavyBlue about the 114+3 probably being closer to what you are looking for. The duration and lift look good, in my opinion.

What would the difference be in the drive ability between the 116+6 and the 114+3 be.
I'm new with the LS motor so any information is appreciated .

I am just putting the car together so I have not had it tuned there are a couple different guys I'm looking at that are supposed to be good on tuning that I talked to and both had a different opinion on cams .One of the cams was to big and the one I'm asking about is the other one.

A great tune can mean make a totally different car to drive... a good tuner can make a car run ok and surge... a great tuner can take a BIG cam and make it drive like a stocker.

Got the cam in today and got to drive it a bit, the driveability was definitely noticable but i was able to drive at 40 mph in 6th gear with very minimal surge, and most importantly the car is untuned. There was some pretty hilarious surge in 1st gear if youre trying to go very slowly up a hill, but the car is completely untuned and honestly it wouldnt be hard to just drive around it. Cam was a 235/243 .629/.629 112+4. Ill make another post next week once i get it tuned to see the true driveability of it, but so far i could definitely daily this without much complaints.

Thank you for the update the information is helpful. Let me know after its tuned how it is to drive. I would like to know if you have lots of vacuum for power brakes with that cam.

Well, after driving the car for about 7 miles it died on me 0% throttle at about 3000 rpm, upon closer inspection i believe my timing chain failed. I didnt change it since the goats dont have an oil pressure gauge and i was more worried about messing up the oil pump seal, engine only had 63k miles on it. Live and learn i guess. So time for a new engine! Although for the time i could drive it (still untuned) the surge was really easily avoidable, it did feel fairly less responsive below about 2200 rpm but im sure a tune would help with that. I would recommend a set of 3.90's or 4.10's with a cam like that but with those and some quieter mufflers the drivability wouldnt be much worse than stock imo.
