Default Did delete Lh6 (Solved)

Hey everyone
Looking for some help I am new to this forum. I have a 2006 envoy with a Lh6. I have done a complete rebuild and a did delete. First start up was great. The after a worm up I started to get a lifter tap. Have all new parts in engine. Complete rebuild. Oil pressure at idle worm is about 38 psi. Can't figure out why lifters start tapping. In you need more info let me know thanks for any help.

Yes I did then spun the engine over and rechecked. The thing is on cold start it is fine when it gets to operating temp the lifter seem to lose oil pressure. But the oil pressure is at 38 psi at idle.

The only thing that I didnt mess with is the oil pan. All the info I could find said I should be fine not blocking off the lifter relief valve in the pan.

I believe you are correct, I recently did same to a lh6 in a 2006 9-7x & came to the same conclusion.

I have a slight noise when warm but does not sound like a lifter.

Yours definitely a lifter noise?

yes was lifter noise. Had 3 lifters on the right side. Got them to build up finally. Had to back of rockers and turn motor over the tighten them back up.

Default Update

Just wanted to update anyone looking at doing this. The truck runs great no problems. Have put about 30k on the truck. Burns more fuel but doesn’t burn oil. Has lots of power. And my pain in the but suv has turned into a great vehicle. Thanks for this site.
