Default Low end torque

Did an LS-3 swap on my 98 SS. 376/480 crate. Very unhappy with low end torque. Trying to go the best way possible. Installed a 12 bolt Moser with 3:91 gears. Then took it to one of the best tuners James Short, which did a great job with what he had to work with. The car is a six speed by the way. Anyone have any suggestions. Someone mentioned doing a head swap. Cannot afford turbos or superchargers. Thanks for any advice

It's not the stock LS3 that he has.....he has the 376/480 LS3 crate engine with the GMPP LSx Hot Cam that's supposed to be good for 495hp/473tq at the crank.

Post your graph if you can. I'd really like to see what the power and torque curve actually look like. I've been flirting with the idea of doing an LS3 crate motor swap in my 98 SS as well. With 3.91's that sucker should pull like a freight train...

We would like to see the graph as well.
An Ls3 is not exactly light on torque especially with a larger cam installed.

Feels really flat. I'll have to get James Short to send me another copy of my Dyno sheet. Doesn't start making good Torque till close to 4000rpm. Talking to Jared from Brian Tooley, he told me the heads on those motors do not make torque down low like the original Cathedral port LS1 did. His suggestion was a new set of trickflow cathedral report heads. That's another $3000, plus a 5 1/2 hour trip to have it returned both ways. Plus labor. I was just wondering if there was another way? Running around at low-speed in second or third, just feels really flat and slushy. Any suggestions would be appreciated very much. I don't need to go two hundred miles an hour. Just want the car to pull good. Thank you very much for getting back with me. And another thing, it's been to two different tuners. James was only able to get 373 to wheels/435 to crank. And I ordered it from GM as a crate 376/480 hot cam. There's no possible way there could be that much loss. Got me scratching my head. It is a six speed by the way.

OK I'll get with him and have him send me one. It sure doesn't feel like a 376/480 hp LS motor. When I took it to the best tuner on the East Coast. It's no dog by any means. It just doesn't have that power band pull down low.
Thanks for your reply

Default Graph sent. Let me know if you got it or not. Doesn't look like it's going through.

I was told by James that on most Dynos that would've been about 412 at the wheel. Which comes out to about 480. But he says his is more accurate. His only said 375 at the wheels
